EBay Donations    

We will gladly accept SMALL items new or gently used that can be sold to the public via EBay.  You will be provided with a receipt for the value of the charitable deduction as Grateful Paws is a non-profit 501(c)(3).  Once a donation is made to Grateful Paws your involvement will be finished - we research and decide the appropriate price for auction, we arrange the sale, we arrange the shipping, we arrange payment.  We will sell the items to the highest bidder as sentimental value cannot be reflected in the price, nor will what you paid.  Your donations are priced to sell to the highest bidder which is the best way to maximize your donation to benefit Grateful Paws.  Under no circumstances can your donated item be returned to you - once the donation is made consider it sold!  If your item cannot be sold via EBay for any reason we will donate to a more suitable charity, I.e. Salvation Army or Goodwill.  As mentioned, once the donation to Grateful Paws is made, your involvement is completed and the item will be auctioned, sold, donated or discarded as we deem necessary.  Rest assured that we try and sell every item, even if only a few dollars is received.

Grateful Paws will direct sell on eBay 100% of proceeds goes directly to Grateful Paws via eBay Giving Works Program. This means that no selling fees will be collected by eBay when an item sells.  This is a tremendous savings that allows us to accept donations of goods and services, offer them up for an on-line public auction, with 100% of the proceeds to benefit Grateful Paws.

You can also sell your stuff on eBay yourself, and donate a portion or all to Grateful Paws directly, anywhere between 10%-100% of the proceeds.  This is through the eBay Giving Works Program. You will need to use the “advanced” setting page for your listing. When creating your listing you just need to indicate desired amount to donate, and choose “Grateful Paws” from the charity organization list to receive your desired donation.  Sellers pay standard insertion and final value fees for eBay Giving Works listings. To support your generosity, if your item sells successfully, eBay gives you a prorated fee credit. The credit is prorated according to the percentage you committed to donated.   So if you donate 10% you will have 10% of your final value fee credited.  If you donate 100% then you will receive 100% credit of final value fees.  To learn more click on the links below, or you can email our eBay volunteer at yvette@gratefulpaws.org
